Salary: $95,000 – $105,000  

Location: New York City (Hybrid) 

The New York Jobs CEO Council is seeking a strong storyteller to join the Marketing team as a Sr. Associate, Executive Communications.  This critical role will embed the organization’s narrative, messaging, and external communications across stakeholders, including partners, members, and the broader public and platforms. This role is responsible for ensuring the organization speaks with clarity, consistency, and credibility across platforms, events, and high-visibility moments on a regular basis. At its core, this role ensures that audiences immediately understand what the Jobs Council does and why it’s relevant, positioning us as a thought leader and authority. 

 This position sits at the intersection of storytelling, content, and strategy, creating communications that build trust, awareness, reputation, and long-term affinity. 

Currently, this role reports to the Chief Marketing officer, and it aligns closely with the Membership and Partner teams. 

Key Responsibilities 

Narrative & Messaging 

  • Develop and steward the organization and executive leaders core narrative, messaging framework, and voice 
  • Ensure consistency across all communications for the brand with our members and partners 
  • Translate our work and impact into compelling, accessible stories for diverse audiences 

Stakeholder Communications 

  • Lead communications development for key executives and stakeholder groups   
  • Develop tailored messaging, materials, and engagement approaches by audience 
  • Support executive communications, including talking points and presentations 

Media & Thought Leadership 

  • Implement media relations strategy and manage PR agency partners 
  • Identify and develop thought leadership opportunities (op-eds, by-lines, speaking engagements, panels, podcasts, newsletters) with heavy emphasis on LinkedIn 
  • Prepare briefing documents for press, public appearances, and high-profile moments 

Content Development 

  • Oversee development of high-impact content including Newsletters, by-lines, op-eds, reports, and editorial pieces 
  • Collaborate with design, digital, and program teams to produce cohesive materials 
  • Maintain editorial standards and quality control against consistent messaging

Qualifications And Skills 

  • 4+ years of relevant professional experience  
  • Excellent organizational, project management, and time management skills 
  • High level of independence, energy, and integrity; demonstrates respect for a diversity of opinions and styles, and accepts accountability and responsibility 
  • Able to thrive in a fast-paced environment, balancing competing priorities while staying organized and detail-oriented 
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills and ability to influence 
  • Highly team-oriented and constantly working for the overall good of the organization 
  • Ability to effectively manage/coordinate simultaneous projects and successfully prioritize multiple tasks with sound judgment.  
  • Strong writing and presentation skills 
  • Strong technical skills. Proficient in MS Office, strong PowerPoint and Keynote skills 
  • Ability to be in New York offices 3 days a week in our current hybrid model 
  • Ability to travel across the five boroughs to the CUNY campuses and employer sites  
  • CUNY grad/CUNY experience is a plus 

Salary for this role ranges from $95,000 – $105,000 annually, depending on experience. The Jobs Council offers a generous PTO package, including unlimited sick days, Health, Dental and Vision Insurance and Matching 401(k).
